The Evil Gila Monster
The Gila Monster was a major antagonist in the game Deadly Creatures and the archenemy of the Scorpion. The Gila Monster's motives are similar to the those of the Rattlesnake, except its main target is the Scorpion. It is seen in Chapter 2,8 and 10. Just like the Rattlesnake it cannot be killed any in-game means.
Biography[]
The Gila Monster was a pink and grey-black coloration with various bands stretching its body.Similarly to the Rattlesnake it wishes to kill and consume the Scorpion.It appears in Chapter 2 , Chapter 8 and Chapter 10 but only serves as a boss fight in Chapter 2.
In Buried a Gila monster is shown killing and eating another scorpion who was about to attack the protagonist Scorpion.It then fights where the Scorpion must dislodge a pile of rocks in order to escape while the Gila monster charges at it.Upon completion, The Scorpion runs into the cave while the Gila fails to fit through and many rocks fall on it.
In Echoes,The same Gila monster from Buried appears out of a crevice in the wall which the scorpion is trying to enter.It lashes out at the Scorpion before being impaled by Josiah Wade's shovel.He promptly remarks about the dead Gila and it is shown giving one last gasp of air before dying.
In Convergence,A Gila monster appears in a glass vivarium during the Struggs boss fight.While it is unknown if it is the one from Buried and Echoes that somehow survived being impaled or a completely different individual it appears here biting Struggs before being crushed by him.It most likely died prior to the explosion but would have died regardless.It's venom is also a secondary reason Struggs slipped in to his coma.

- The Gila monster is the only antagonist to die before Convergence[If the assumption that it died in Echoes is true]
- If the assumption is not correct then it is the second major animal antagonist to die in Convergence
